ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and I love what I do. As a LMHC, I have the great privilege of working closely with people helping them through changes, transitions and transformation.
I studied at Washington State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies. Afterward I worked for five years at a Women’s Reproductive Health Clinic providing crisis counseling to clients. This experience inspired me to continue with the field of mental health and learn more about the therapeutic process. I then attended Antioch University Seattle and earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling.
I am passionate about increasing my knowledge within my field and enthusiastically pursue continuing education to deepen my knowledge and keep abreast of developments in psychotherapy. I am currently participating in an ongoing Gestalt Therapy training for Individual and Couples Counseling.
Also, I have been practicing Vipassana meditation since 2005 and attend extended silent meditation retreats twice a year. Meditation and Mindfulness have been essential in my personal development, keeping me balanced, grounded and in tune with myself. I use both practices of meditation and mindfulness in therapy, especially with clients who often worry, ruminate, have negative thought patterns or difficulty with their emotions.
